Use this free online attendance calculator to find your attendance percentage from classes attended and total classes held, and check it against a target eligibility threshold.
How to Use the Attendance Calculator
Enter the number of "Classes Attended".
Enter the "Total Classes Held" so far.
Adjust the "Eligibility Threshold (%)" if your institution uses something other than the common 75%.
Click "Calculate Attendance" to see your percentage and eligibility status.
Worked Example
You have attended 52 of the 68 lectures held so far. Attendance = 52 ÷ 68 × 100 = 76.47%. With the default 75% threshold, the status shows Eligible, because the comparison uses the unrounded figure and 76.47 is at least 75.
Being just above the line leaves little room. If you miss the next lecture, the count becomes 52 of 69, which is 75.36%, still eligible. Miss one more and it is 52 of 70, or 74.29%, and you drop below the requirement.
How Many Classes Can You Miss?
If you are above your target, the number of further classes you can skip in a row while staying at or above it is: Classes you can miss = Attended ÷ (Target ÷ 100) − Total held, rounded down. For 52 of 68 at 75%: 52 ÷ 0.75 − 68 = 1.33, so you can miss only one more class.
If you are below target, the Required Attendance Calculator works out how many classes in a row you need to attend to get back. At 75%, the shortcut is 3 × Total held − 4 × Attended. For 40 of 58, that is 174 − 160 = 14 classes.
Minimum Attendance for 75% Over a Full Term
If you know how many classes a subject will have in the whole semester, this shows the minimum you must attend and the most you can miss. Fractions are rounded up, because you cannot attend part of a class.

Attendance Rules to Check at Your Institution
Subject-wise or overall: many colleges apply the minimum to each subject separately, so a strong overall figure can hide one subject that is short. Run the calculator once per subject if that is your rule.
Theory and practicals: labs and tutorials are often counted separately from lectures, and a missed three-hour lab may count as more than one class.
Condonation: some boards and universities allow a shortfall to be condoned for documented medical reasons or approved activities such as sports or NCC, usually only down to a lower limit. Apply in time and keep certificates.
Cut-off date: attendance is usually counted up to a fixed date before exams. Classes after that date may not help you, so do not leave recovery to the last week.
75% is a commonly used minimum attendance requirement at many Indian schools and colleges, but you can change it to match your own institution's policy.
Use the Required Attendance Calculator, which tells you exactly how many additional classes you need to attend without missing any to reach your target percentage.
Divide the classes you have attended by 0.75 and subtract the total held so far, then round down. With 90 attended out of 110, that is 90 ÷ 0.75 − 110 = 10, so you can miss the next 10 classes and still be at exactly 75%.
This calculator does not round up, so 74.9% is shown as Not Eligible against a 75% threshold. Institutions vary: some round to the nearest whole number and others apply the cut-off strictly, so do not rely on rounding to cover a shortfall.
