How the Text Is Generated
The generator draws from a fixed list of 62 Latin-looking words taken from the classic Lorem Ipsum passage (lorem, ipsum, dolor, consectetur, adipiscing and so on). Each word is picked at random, so two clicks with the same settings give different output.
Words: returns exactly the number of words you ask for, in lower case, separated by single spaces, with no punctuation. Useful for filling a button label, a tag or a short heading.
Sentences: each sentence has between 6 and 14 random words, starts with a capital letter and ends with a full stop. Sentences are joined with a space into one block.
Paragraphs: each paragraph has between 4 and 8 such sentences, and paragraphs are separated by a blank line so they paste cleanly into a word processor or CMS.
With the "Start with Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet" box ticked, word mode replaces the first five words with that phrase, sentence mode replaces the first sentence with "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.", and paragraph mode adds that sentence in front of the first paragraph.
How Much Text Will You Get?
Because sentence and paragraph lengths are random within a range, the word count varies. These ranges follow directly from the limits used in the generator:

So the default setting of 3 paragraphs gives roughly 180 words, but any single run can land anywhere from about 72 to 336 words. If you need an exact length, for example a 50-word product description slot, use word mode instead.
Practical Tips for Using Placeholder Text
Match the real content length. A card that will hold a two-line summary should be tested with about 20 words, not a full paragraph, or the layout will look different once real copy arrives.
Test the extremes. Generate one very short and one very long block to check that text wraps, truncates or scrolls the way you expect.
Search before you publish. Placeholder text left on a live page looks careless and can hurt how search engines and ad reviewers judge the page. A quick search for "lorem" in your files catches leftovers.
Latin text does not test Indian scripts. Hindi, Tamil or Bengali text has different character widths, line heights and conjuncts, so check those layouts with real sample text in that language.
