1. Estimates, Not Final Figures

Every calculator uses the formula described on its page, and we check the worked examples against the tool's output. Even so, a result is only as good as the numbers entered and the assumptions behind the formula. Real figures from a bank, insurer, employer, tax authority or supplier can differ because of rounding, fees, charges, exact dates or rules that a general-purpose calculator does not include. Always confirm important figures with the organisation concerned before acting on them.

2. Financial, Tax and Investment Calculators

Calculators such as income tax, GST, TDS, EMI, SIP, PPF, NPS, EPF and gratuity are not financial, tax, investment or legal advice. Tax slabs, GST rates, interest rates and scheme rules are set by the Government of India, the GST Council, RBI, PFRDA, EPFO and other bodies, and they change. We update the tools when rules change, and each page states which rules it uses, but there can be a delay. Before filing a return, issuing an invoice or making an investment, check the current rules on the official source (for example the Income Tax e-filing portal, the CBIC GST portal, or the PFRDA and NPS Trust websites) or consult a chartered accountant or registered financial adviser. Investment returns shown by SIP, mutual fund and similar calculators are projections based on the rate you enter; market-linked returns are not guaranteed.

3. Health and Fitness Calculators

BMI, BMR, body fat, calorie, ideal weight, pregnancy, ovulation, period and similar calculators give general estimates based on published formulas. They are not medical advice and cannot diagnose any condition. Pregnancy and fertility dates are estimates only. Talk to a doctor or other qualified health professional before making decisions about your health, diet, exercise, medication or pregnancy.

4. Construction, Electrical and Plumbing Calculators

Material, load, cable, pipe and cost estimates use common thumb rules and standard formulas. Actual quantities depend on site conditions, design, wastage and local practice, and prices vary by location and over time. Structural, electrical and plumbing work should be designed and checked by a qualified engineer, licensed electrician or plumber, and must follow the applicable codes and local regulations.

5. Accuracy and Errors
