Add your own materials, quantities, and rates plus labour cost to estimate total plumbing cost.
How to Use the Plumbing Cost Calculator
Add a row for each material, entering its name, quantity, and rate.
Enter your "Labour Cost (₹)".
Click "Calculate" to see the material cost, labour cost, and estimated total.
How the Estimate Is Built
Each material row is costed as Quantity × Rate. Rows with a missing or zero quantity or rate are skipped. The row totals are added to give the material cost, and the labour figure you enter is added on top to give the estimated total. Nothing is assumed for you: no default prices, no wastage and no tax, so the estimate is only as good as the list you build.
That makes the tool useful in two ways. You can price a job yourself from a shop's rate list, or you can type in the items from a plumber's quotation to check that the arithmetic and the overall total add up.
Worked Example
Re-piping the hot and cold supply in one bathroom with ¾ inch CPVC. The rates below are illustrative only; use the prices quoted by your own supplier.

Adding a 10% allowance on materials for extra fittings and offcuts would add about ₹716, which you can enter as its own row.
Items People Often Leave Out
Small consumables: solvent cement, primer, PTFE (teflon) tape, pipe clamps, screws and rawl plugs, and sealant around fixtures.
Valves and connectors: angle valves, ball valves, connection hoses and the concealed body of a diverter or mixer.
Civil work linked to plumbing: chasing walls for concealed pipes, breaking and relaying floor tiles, waterproofing and plastering after the pipes are fixed. This is often done by a mason and charged separately.
Pressure testing the new lines before walls are closed, and any repeat visit to fix a leak.
Removal of old pipes and debris, and transport of material to site.
How Plumbers in India Usually Charge Labour
Per point: A fixed amount for each water inlet or outlet point (tap, shower, WC, basin, geyser). Common for new flats and full bathroom jobs.
Per day: A daily rate for a plumber and a helper, suited to repairs or jobs where the scope is unclear.
Lump sum: One price for the whole job. Make sure the quotation lists exactly what is included so extras do not appear later.
Per running foot or metre: Sometimes used for long external lines or drainage runs.
Whichever method is used, convert it to a single rupee figure for the Labour Cost box. Rates differ widely between cities and between a small repair and a full renovation, so collect two or three quotations for larger jobs.
Frequently Asked Questions
For each material row, Cost = Quantity × Rate. All material row costs are added together as the 'Material Cost', then your entered Labour Cost is added to get the final estimated total.
Yes — add as many material rows as you need (pipes, fittings, fixtures, etc.) and enter your local rates, since prices vary considerably by location, brand, and supplier.
No, this is a materials + labour estimate only. Add applicable taxes separately based on your local tax rules.
Yes. Pipes come in fixed lengths and the exact number of elbows and tees is rarely known until the job is laid out on site, so many people add 5 to 10% on materials. Enter it as a separate row, for example "Contingency", with a quantity of 1 and the amount as the rate.
Check whether the quotation includes items your list does not, such as civil work, waterproofing, testing, transport, GST or brand differences. The calculator only adds what you type, so a missing line is the most common reason for a gap.
